Creating positive impact through community, nature, and shared wellbeing
At Plantation Villa, wellbeing extends beyond the individual to the communities and environments around us. We believe meaningful healing is something to be shared — by supporting local livelihoods, protecting nature, and creating opportunity. Guided by these values, we grow alongside the communities we are part of, ensuring our presence has a lasting and positive impact.

LOCAL IMPACT IN SRI LANKA A commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities and caring for the land we share.
In Sri Lanka, our roots are deeply connected to the surrounding villages and the natural environment.
In Sri Lanka, we are deeply connected to the nearby villages and the natural environment. Plantation Villa was created not only as a place for healing, but as a way to support and care for the community around us. Through creating opportunities, supporting local schools, temples, and hospitals, and nurturing the land through reforestation and animal care, we aim to uplift and bring lasting benefit to those around us.
Helping underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka In Sri Lanka, much of our community work is carried out through Metta Trust, a charity we created to support local villagers in practical and lasting ways.
Through this work, we provide employment and training, support schools with essential resources, and invest in education — including building a training centre to create new opportunities for young people.
We also offer direct support where it is most needed, from funding critical medical care such as heart surgery, to organising free Ayurvedic medical days with consultations and medicines. Alongside this, we continue to support local temples, hospitals, and community spaces, while caring for the natural environment through reforestation and wildlife protection.
Building happy communities in the uk Supporting our local Herefordshire community by bringing people together and supporting our natural world around us.
Our work centres on building meaningful connections through open days, shared gatherings, and support for local initiatives. We also support churches, temples, and mental health initiatives, recognising the importance of nurturing wellbeing across all parts of the community.
Our commitment also extends to the natural world. So far we have planted over 5000 trees at our UK centre, and partner with the Woodland Trust to support reforestation and work with Herefordshire Wildlife Rescue to care for local wildlife, ensuring that our presence contributes positively to the health and balance of the surrounding countryside.

Our Metta Trust Charity Plantation Villa is a social enterprise, with over 70-80% of our profits supporting our own charity, Metta Trust.
Through the trust, we aim to support community development, funding initiatives in education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. Guided by the principle of loving-kindness, this work allows our impact to extend beyond the retreat, supporting a more connected and balanced approach to wellbeing for people and nature alike.

Our 6 Pillars
We believe our health, wellbeing and environment are all interconnected. Driven by kindness and inspired by ancestral roots and indigenous practices, our philosophy links together these six pillars, not just through the heart, body and mind but also through community, earth and spirit.
Heart
Emotional wellbeing must be the very start of every journey. We begin with loving kindness, understanding that good health is much more than just the body. Using our safe and loving environment you will have the space to reflect on how you deal with emotions. Inspired by Buddhist teachings, our serene sanctuary helps you find the tools for inner peace, uplifted balance and soulful transformation.
Mind
Any change in the body causes an effect on our thinking; to reshape our overall wellbeing, we must therefore also take care of our minds. Ayurveda offers medicinal remedies while yoga, meditation, wisdom talks, a calming environment and the company of empaths combine to soothe and sharpen our life views.
Body
Nutrition, lifestyle and sleep are needed for a healthy body. We focus on fresh, organic food prepared by our Ayurvedic doctors using Ayurveda principles. Regular yoga helps our internal systems function better; paired with calm evenings and tranquil environments, sleep is improved, too.
Community
We are not just a retreat but a social enterprise that funds our own charity, The Metta Trust alongside UK mental health organisations. We believe that Plantation Villa belongs to all, and our communities are a vital part of our philosophy, from the Sri Lankan staff and school children we support to the local community that surround our Herefordshire retreat.
Earth
Inner journeys begin by connecting not just with people, but with animals and nature, each depending on the other. We know that a natural environment supports good mental and physical health and our commitment helps protect nature through careful reforestation and preservation of wildlife.
Spirit
Spirituality is the conclusion of our path, the lived experience of unity where meaning, truth and the self become one, leading to a lasting sense of fulfillment. By keeping the mind calm, the body healthy and the self connected to nature, we can shape the meaning we give to life.
