Practices to Calm the Mind and Nourish the Body

Across our centres in the UK and Sri Lanka, we offer yoga, meditation and chanting as simple, grounding practices to support balance, wellbeing, and a deeper connection with yourself.

Our yoga class style Our yoga sessions are breath-led and gently paced, focusing on the connection between movement and breath.

Rather than following fixed styles, each class is guided with care, allowing the practice to adapt to your body and energy on the day.

Our teachers draw from the lineage of Krishnamacharya and Desikachar, supported by a strong understanding of human anatomy and individual needs. Combined with their own experience and intuition, this creates a practice that feels personal, responsive and deeply supportive.

Meditation Sessions Meditation is a quiet but essential part of daily life at the retreat.

Rooted in traditional Buddhist practices, sessions include guided, silent and walking meditations, with techniques such as breath awareness and loving-kindness to help settle the mind and develop clarity.

You are invited to explore meditation in a way that feels natural and accessible, whether in guided sessions or during your own quiet time. Over the course of your stay, it becomes a steady support, helping you cultivate calm, awareness, and emotional balance.

Mindful Lifestyle Beyond treatments and structured sessions, your time here encourages a more mindful and conscious way of living.

Through wisdom talks, workshops, and guided classes, our Ayurvedic doctors, yoga teachers and Buddhist monks share practical insights to help you integrate these teachings into your everyday life. The intention is not only what you experience during your stay, but what you carry home with you.

For those who wish to deepen their experience, we offer the option of a silent retreat, allowing you to move through your stay with minimal conversation and interaction, creating space for quiet reflection and a more inward-focused journey.

chanting Chanting at our centre is a simple, grounding form of meditation that helps bring the mind and body into balance.

Rooted in Buddhist tradition, it uses gentle rhythm and repetition to steady the breath, quiet the mind, and create a sense of calm.

We often chant the Metta Sutta (loving-kindness), taking time to reflect on kindness and goodwill towards ourselves and others. The repetition helps you stay present and let go of distraction.

It’s a relaxed and welcoming practice—chanting books are provided so you can follow along, and no experience is needed. It’s less about religion or prayer, and more about slowing down, settling the mind, and reconnecting with yourself.
